About the Artist
Debra Romero brings to the Atlanta Black Tie Club decades of community involvement, including volunteering for multiple Habitat for Humanity builds in New Orleans and in Florida, the Family Renew Program in Daytona Beach, and many religious organizations through churches where she has been a member. A self-taught sculptor, Debra’s original Santa and Christmas dolls and decor have been featured on the cover of Sunshine Artist Magazine, in the Biltmore Hotel, A Coffee Top Book, The City of Norcross and Duluth and most recently, in Georgia Governor Deal’s mansion during the Governor’s annual Christmas tours. She is also a seasoned realtor, having worked in both Central Florida and in the Metro Atlanta area.
When she is not working or giving back to her community, Debra loves to dance, travel. and spend time with her family. She has five children, nine grandchildren, and one well-loved Westie named Lilly. Debra was born in Tennessee and first moved to Georgia in 1968. She and her late husband, Joseph, relocated to Florida in 1988, then returned to North Georgia in 2000 to be closer to her grandchildren.
